    Default Fingering for G-9

I have a song I'm working on with two guitar chords: G minus 9 (which I think is G, D, Bb and D) and A/G (A with a G in the bass? or G, E, A and C#?). Anyway, the verse goes back and forth between these two chords. Can anyone suggest mandolin fingering for both.

    Thanks.

    G- 9 I think is G minor 9, which would G Bb D A, so one voicing is

    0-0-1-5

    G/A could be 0-2-0-0

My Gm9 would likely be 3-3-5-5.

    G minor 9 is the notes G Bb D F A. Can't get all of those.

    As mentioned before a good 4 string voicing is 3 3 5 5.

    Good 3 string voicing is 3 7 5. GDA

For going back/forth you can decide how movement you want in top, bottom, or middle:

    Gm9 0-0-1-5
    A/G 0-2-4-5

    Gm9 2-0-1-3
    A/G 0-2-4-5

    Gm9 3-5-5-5
    A/G 0-2-4-5

    etc.

0001 hammer on to 3001. You hear every note in the Gm9 chord that way. Try it, you'll like how it sounds. Or, just play an open G then hammer on to 3001. G Bb D A F. Perfect.

Sure you can, if you can split the G strings. Leave the bass G open and get the Bb on the treble G.

    Gm9, a/k/a G-9 or Gmin9 or Gmi9 could also be 7-8-12
