Default Tips for tunes in B flat major/ G minor

Hi, I plan to focus on the key of B flat in my practice for a couple of months now. I've already learned New Campton Races and Daleys reel, and I'm planning to learn Kentucky Mandolin in G minor. Do you have any suggestions for other tunes or songs that are commonly played in these keys? I think Monroe played some songs out of chop position in B flat?

    Best Regards, voie

I went straight by the key specified in the abc. I did not check the scale.

If you like I post the tef's

    Have fun

If it's just for the practice of playing in that key, you could take any tune and move it to that key. I find transposing tunes like this very good practice for fingers, brain and ears.
Otherwise, the only tune I can think of off the top of my head I normally play in Bb is President Garfield's Hornpipe.

Cheyenne (Monroe) and First Day In Town (Kenny Baker). Here's a nice waltz by Nolan Faulkner called El Dorado Waltz, in Bb.

I love Cheyenne, I'll definitely try to learn that

As somebody said, I could transpose any song to the key of B flat to get familiar with the key, but i thought that I should also spend these "B flat months" learning some standard bluegrass and oldtime repertoire that is usually played in B flat. Then I can pick up solos from recordings and practice licks that are particularly suited to this key.

    Best regards, Voie

Here are a few Bb tunes of the old time persuasion. That should keep you a little busy.
