Default 25.5" scale Tenor Guitar, one that I can afford?

I'm new to this web site but love everything I've read so far. There are some really smart people writing and learning here.
My Question: is, does anyone out there make a production Tenor guitar with a 25.5 or greater scale length? I can't afford a Breedlove and am just about to do what I'm doing with a Seagull S12 twelve string to a six string guitar in order to get the scale length I want. FYI, yes I tune the Irish scale of GDAE. For more on the 12 string project see my post "Twelve string to TENOR"

If you're looking for something that long with four strings, you might have more luck searching for them as plectrum guitars (as they were guitar versions of plectrum banjos). You can still find vintage plectrum guitars every now and then, but they are rare.

Wasn't the plectrum scale length something like 27" on a Gibson?

Hi Dan; I believe Mike Soares of Soares’y Guitars has built longer scale tenors.
    Here's his website.

Well, he did say, "or greater".

Does anyone make a four string at 25.5" other than Breedlove?

Joel Eckhaus of Earnest Instruments offers long scale version of two of his tenor guitars:
    * His acoustic 'Big Red' has a 26.5" scale
    * He also offers a 26.25" scale version of his electric Tenorcaster

Well John lawlor tunes his Tenor Bb, F, C, G cause it's a modified Guitar that was converted from a 6 string to an Extra long scale Tenor.

You've resurrected a 10 year old thread from the dead. The last time the OP visited the cafe was in 2014.

Jill, is this the first you've noticed this user doing this? Personally, I think it's hilarious when he routinely resurrects my various topics on my 6-course 25.5" mandophone in full fifths tuning with the high B4 course. He often advises me to try the particular string I found which works, and which I recommend earlier in the topic.

I don't think I've ever seen this user respond to someone in a current topic, which makes me think it's really a low-grade misapplied AI. *laugh*

Oh I've definitely noticed this user's inclination to raise zombie threads in the past - maybe it is someone beta testing AI!

Who knows what s11141827’s focus is, we know he (she) likes JP string sets and we know he (she) likes to make single statement post normally relating to string gauges.
We also know that s11141827 does not seem to like to interact with other members or follow up his (her) post with conversation but I think most of us would love to know more about s11141827?

It looks like he added to his signature that his name is Oscar Stern. We know he knows how to copy and paste the same comment into multiple old posts. Obviously he knows how to add to an existing thread. Maybe he doesn’t know how to start a new thread? I think he means well but maybe is just a bit confused and wants to share things he has learned.

Oscar: feel free to ask us for help or if you don’t get how things work around here.

Ah ok thanks for that Jim, I think most of us who regularly post on the tenor guitar thread already except Oscar as part of the community even though we make tongue in cheek remarks.
