    Default Gibson A

Unable to tried it I need your help. What's general opinion on this one, my main concern is the top, has it sunk a little or not?

    Best regards

It looks like the top sunk from this photo. The seller does offer: "14 days money back, buyer pays return shipping".

OTOH there are lots of Gibson As out there for that price. I would go with a reliable dealer or a Cafe seller. Esp without the pickguard and without a case(?) I think you can do much better.

Yikes. That's a useful photo, Jim, to have up on the MC. About the clearest shot of a Gibson sunken top that I have seen. Good to have as a reference.

Always a lot of '10s As to choose from and in better condition (and better prices....)

Yes that one is about as done sunk as I've ever seen!

Do you notice the used Gibson A-model in the classifieds? I don't know the seller but the top looks good at least!

Here's the one from the classifieds. Yes it looks nice, but you'd need to see more pictures.

Because you're in Portugal you'll need to be pretty certain that your mandolin is in acceptable condition before you buy it (if you're looking across the Atlantic) since shipping costs will be so high. Private sellers may want you to arrange the shipping. When I bought my F-4 some years ago I used DHL. Not cheap but quick with full insurance, and if I imported again I'd stick with them.
