Thread: Band name needed.... SOON!

  1. #1

    Default Band name needed.... SOON!

I've posted a few videos on here of my group. There are 3 of us Sydney the lead singer and she plays guitar, Alex who plays bass and me on mandolin and I sing too. We've been offered great opportunities and playing many places. We need help figuring a band name and I thought what better place then the mandolin cafe! We are from the Cumberland Gap area of tn. If that helps any. We need a name by in the morning but any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should call yourselves "Two Outta Three Ain't Bad".
(I'm not insinuating anything, I just think it would be funny and memorable.)

    Shawn,
Why not use the Cafes' band name generator?

    The Fern Lake Pickers
    The Gap Trackers
    Sydney's String Band
    Alex's Restaurant
The Hiking Vikings (but you have to wear brown suits with the horned helmets and hiking boots)
    Shawn of the Gap
    Snarl and the Brambles

Just start rambling off ideas with each other, you'll get something. That's how my old band came up with Space Heater. The lead guitar / singer looked at the old fire-hazard of a space heater in the basement and said "What about Space Heater?" It stuck, and I can't even remember another name we considered.

Ha! that's how I got a Fantasy Football team name a few years ago. I plan to use that same name if I ever start a band too, because it's pretty awesome. I won't tell what it is tho...

As I recall that video of you guys was great. I wouldn't want to pick a name that is too tricky or too hip that distracts from the solid quality you band really has. Your music has some really stuff in it, and I don't think you need to attract attention with a funny name.

We have thought about it so much but nothing come to mine. I liked southern comfort until I found out it was a Lynard Skynard tribute band and a old Conway twitty band

Wow, I'd forgotten about that. Haven't seen it in years! Thanks for posting. I'm justifiably proud of that... or maybe it's the second glass of scotch.

Bluegrass and sausages are two things you do not want to see being made.

    Wait, that's not it.

Cumbersome Gap? You could all stagger on with oversized instruments.

Great one OS !!!. One of the biggest 'geeeeez !' moments of my life was walking to the edge of the Cumberland Overlook platform & looking down into the gap. I nearly got vertigo. Back in '92,the new tunnel was still under construction & i could see all the work going on. So - how about 'Cumberland Overlook',not that i'd hope that you would be 'overlooked',far from it,
