    Default Looking for bluegrass pickers in South Louisiana

    Yeah, I know, I'm in Cajun country, but hoping someone around this area is looking to get together for some informal picking. I play guitar (not a flatpicker though), and mandolin. If your within an hour from Lafayette, let me know in a pm.

    ...and most if not all of the bluegrass festivals in this area have rules that state that alcohol is not allowed. Tragic.

    Contact my friend Scott Willis in Sulphur. I'm sure he would pick with you. He works for Calcasieu Parish, so he should be easy to find if you call down there. I think he has a website, Louisiana Purchase Bluegrass, or something.

    Hey there, Pickers,

    I'm in Covington, LA. I'm not too experienced in mandolin playing, but I am a very familiar with music through my studies in Percussion. Are there any mandolin teachers in the Northshore area??!!
