    Unhappy

I’ve had my little 8-stringed friend for about a year, and I figure he is WAY over due for a new set of strings. So, I went to the local music shop, and all I found were Guitar and Bass strings. So... what now? Should I ask the employees to help me find them (I was in a rush, and didn’t ask for help) or should I use guitar strings. And if that be the case, which guitar strings? This store has a few mandolins, so I can only assume the would have strings.

I know I have to use my gutiar tuner to tune my mandolin, will I have to use Gutiar strings to string my Mando?

Why the heck are guitars so popular anyways!!!!!??

On-line sources will have new strings to you sooner than you can snap your fingers. Have you tried any of the board sponsors? Where are you located?

    Hey man,
Seeing as how you go a year without restringing. You might consider getting a set of TI's. They sound great, play great, and last forever. I'm a fan. Others have their gripes, but I would consider them over those polyweb things. I bought mine from mandohack off his jazzmando site. I'm in Texas also and they got to me in a couple business days. He sent on Saturday and they were in my box on Monday. They cost a bit more, but you won't need to change again for a while.

I've found that Elderly's and Janet Davis seem to be the cheapest to order strings from. Mainly when you order six at a time or more due to shipping charges.

..First Quality is my choice....belive it or not...a few years ago I ordered some strings first thing in the morning and they were at my door that same evening....usually it takes a day or two...
