Thread: Luigi Emburgher Orch Model 1

Default Luigi Emburgher Orch Model 1

I was recently offered an Orchestra Model 1 in very nice playable condition (no major repairs, original everything, frets crowned and leveled, etc., cosmetically great) for $4K. Does anyone out there have an idea if this price is a fair one?

If it is, I'm a sucker, because I passed one up on eBay for $600.

I think at that price I'd expect a soloist model.

    Thread on that very subject.

Comment was made that it was an "outrageously low price," but that a more realistic market value would be "twice that," or around $1.2K. Which is significantly less than $4K.

Googling around doesn't yield many price references for Embergher Orchestra Models; not many on the market. Hope some of the more experienced bowl-backers chime in.

Correct spelling is Embergher. Barone, what year is this one? I think the price is on the high side but a lot does depend on what it needs to be made correctly playable. Few folks in North America really know how to properly set up one. If it is truly in good shape and set up properly then that price, tho one the hight side, might be worth it on the long run.

I know of someone who bought a nicely set up Style B student from Alfred Woll in germany a few years ago for about $2500. A No. 1 should not really go for much more than that tho some dealers do price them higher. OTOH it would be worth it if you love it and it doesn't need a thing. I would say that overall a No. 1 should be about $3000.
