    Default The Hills of Lorne

This is a version of the great Charlie Hunter slow air. it is played here by my band, The Old Bores, with Derek Macdonald on accordion, John Thomson on concertina and myself on octave, mandolin and guitar.

I took the video clips on Tuesday up on Loch Awe around Kilchurn Castle.

No need for the Occasionals to fret yet, Kevin!

Beautiful rendition, and gorgeous video of what I have always been convinced is one of the most beautiful places on Earth... (at least, a few months out of the year it is..)

Obviously there are more occasionals around than the occasionals. Beautiful. Thank you.

Thanks for comments, folks. As far as being like the Occasionals, Werner, our only connection is that we occasionally all play the same tune at the same time!
Xiled, glad to have given you a bit of home, even if it has raised your nostalgia levels, and Marti, you are so right about our scenery.
Tom, on Tuesday evening the midges were just beginning to get to me while I was taking the video shots. They can completely wreck the enjoyment of being outside and they are here for a good part of our summer. The weather is not a problem for us as much as other folk think. We have become accustomed to the various weather elements we get not only from season to season but indeed from hour to hour! My own county, Argyll, can be exceptionally wet but it is this same rain that gives us the glorious colours and greenery.
