    Default SummerGrass XI August 16-18 2013 in Sunny San Diego, CA

    SummerGrass, one of the premier west coast bluegrass festivals is in 2 weeks. NewFound Road & Sierra Hull are among the highlighted artists.

    Great jamming (the last 2 years I probably made it out of the RV camp/jam ground for a total of 3 hrs), great spirit, overall great festival experience.

    Started this thread for us to communicate, plan, heck maybe we'll do an impromptu mando taste test...feel free to chime-in re: experiences, plans, etc. Any cafe members travelling a long distance and needing accomodations, check with me, I should be able to help you out.

    Just got my tickets for Fri/Sat yesterday at Buffalo Bros.

    This year's festival is lookin really prime; bunch of my buds are doin volunteerin work as we speak. Gonna start goin over there to jam on Tuesday...

    Anybody on the Cafe showin up?
    The weather has been bitchin, and the outlook is more of the same: high of 81-82, low of 62-63...

    I just have to decide if I get a room in Vista/Carlsbad/Oceanside or just commute from OC...

    Well be there with our camper from Fri thru Sunday. We're in the cg with an electric spot - sorta toward the middle of the cg. Look for a Lance camper with a slide out on an older blue and white Ford Dually.

    Also I think I'm going to sell the Flatiron, so it will probably be on an instrument stand on the road by the camper.

    The drive will be a shorter one than say between OC and Huck Finn or Topanga, but if you're planning on being there all 3 days then it's a different story.

    I'll be there Sat to make sure i make it to Sierra Hull's workshop at 2. And I know shiloh (Jill) will be there Sat and Sun. Should be a good fun, hot weekend.
