That is sweet! Do you have a website people could browse?
I've bought the name Hughesmandolins.com but haven't had a chance to get the site up yet. Hope to soon! Just posted a youtube vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFeZlf9vzbU

Thought I posted this last night, but now I can't find it! Oh,well, I watched your youtube video. That is one SWEET A style! Very nice work, and a beautiful, full sound. I gotta keep an eye on you, if this is an indication, you're building some excellent instruments. Can't wait to see it finished.
Music speaks to us all. And to each of us, she speaks with a different voice.

Very nice vHughs2000 (funny name for a human). Very good playing too - jealous.
Well, the blue is on. What a challenge! onto scraping the binding and more clear coats.

You missed a bit.
Very nice. When I worked at Stelling we did a couple banjos in cobalt blue. I've been thinking of a blue one myself. Nice picking also.

Man, if I were going to a blue one that would be the color
I'm kinda liking how it's turning out and i'm a traditional hand rubbed sunburst fan. I feel good about it since this is my first attempt at something more on the wild side. 30 year background of restoring fire and water damaged furniture of all kinds has been a huge help.I ain't scared.

That's one pretty A-5, watched the vidio, nice picking, and sound. It seems to me that you weren't all that thrilled with doing a blue mando, but you really knocked it out of the park . What is the ebony colored lamination in the neck ,if you don't mind my asking, and how about a picture of the headstock inlay?
No,actually I jumped at the chance to do something different, just wasn't really sure how to get the blue the customer requested. All I had was a picture he liked out of the chenary blue guitar exhibition book. The pic I was working from is below.Just for a hoot I did a three piece neck, with some kind of jet black dyed wood I had laying around. Thought it might look cool in this one. The customer was born in Louisiana and wanted a crawdad inlay instead of the usual fern or flowerpot I put in them. I'm going to have some good pics taken when I get it strung up and ready,i'm letting the laquer cure for a couple weeks before I buff it out and put the hardware back on. I'll post the pics here then.
