Default #3 A Bean Blossom Moment 1959 That's Alright Bill & Joe Stuart

    111 That's Alright .mp3

1959 and Elvis was King and Joe Stuart was doing his "shakey" legged best to make it happen. Note Bill's break......whole bunch of signature licks tossed in...

Joe was the ultimate sideman and played all instruments with the Bluegrass Boys including the mandolin!! You history buffs can discuss that tidbit...

    Great fun seeing this....

Again, great stuff! Thankīs a lot for making this available. This is indeed historic as this kind of music shows the Bill Monroe "fringes" inasmuch as Bill Monroe didnīt just play "his" music but also did music by others. I like this period of Bill Monroe music because it is especially powerful and bluesy.

Exactly......Bill was not all Uncle Pen and Blue Moon of Kentucky.....in his early days he had Sally Ann Forester on accordion Sheesh

But seriously he allowed his sidemen to do some things that were indeed "out of the box" and he sure didn't miss a chance to push the Brad Keith's or Richard Greene's of the world out front and center......I just get a kick out of his approach to doing some of the odd things......I have a recording that I will post of him doing Swinging Shepherd Blues in a backstage jam......neat....
