    Default Gibson A style identification..

Hey. I was wondering if anyone could identify the year of the gibson A2 by the pattern around the oval hole. I believe this pattern kept changing throughout the teens and 20s, and this one has sort of a rope-look. Anyone?

Provide the serial number and factory order number and you will get your answer.

It's not my mando so I don't have a serial number. But am I correct in saying that the 1918-19 models are the only ones with this rosette?

You might try coasting through the Mandolin Archive and looking at photos to see what you can discover.
