I found this beautiful Greek song played by ATTIKA, beautiful lyrics.
I thought I would share it.. lots of mandolin work in this one.
I was hoping that someone could advise where I can find voice / mandolin score sheet.

Hello, Hany.
You bring back sweet, warm memories... many of those fine musicians appearing on the video are dear, dear friends in whose happy company I found myself as recently as last February, and whom I hope to meet again before long.
As far as a score, you can readily take down the music by ear; the scoring is probably flexible, ad hoc, using whatever instruments are available on the occasion. As for the lyrics, I can easily jot them down for you— hey, it's Greek to me.
The venue is in the Municipality of Corinth; you can see the palm tree in the back. Greek palms, originally descended from Egyptian forebears, adorn towns around the rim of the Corinthian Gulf, where also our own country-home stands in the shade of pistachio trees and pines.
Cheers, and many thanks for posting this.
Victor

Hello Victor,
Thank you for your reply. It's Greek to me too (I am half Greek). Lyrics are so beautiful.
Next time I'll be in Athens I'll try to plan my trip on a date when Attika will be performing, if I could.
Unfortunately for me, I was never able to play by ear (done it very rarely).
I'll keep looking on the net for a score sheet. Ι found a book on line with 20 of Θεοδωράκης songs. But this one was not in it.
Thank you again
Hany

You are very welcome, Hany. A small world... my seafaring ancestors made routine stops in Alexandria, coming down from Odessa, along the coastline of the Eastern Aegean...
I can take just about anything down by ear but, alas, time is the only constraint... Aris Dimitriadis, ATTIKA's leader, is a fine fellow and a great person to know. Perhaps he can lead you to his own sources. If you would like me to, I would be happy to put you two in touch; my home email is the same username as on the Café, at earthlink, dot net. Please always feel free to write to me— in either language.
Cheers,
Victor

Opa, indeed!
ATTIKA does a truly wonderful, wonderful job bringing music for plucked instruments to the public. If you also factor in the horrifically adverse circumstances under which a cultural institution like ATTIKA operates in Greece at this time, the crippling economic hardship, the frequent disruption of basic services, the outright suffering of the population everywhere you look, these folks are nothing short of heroes.
As far as I am concerned, the young musicians of ATTIKA are in the same league as I Musici, performing in the gutted, bombed out nave of a Roman church right after WWII.
Three cheers to ATTIKA!
Victor

Yes, the economic situation there is quite dreadful and very precarious so kudos to the artists that continue to strive on and make beautiful music. My father lives in Piraeus, a short walk from Pasalimani, so I hear about it first hand.

Well, if you see an older gentleman walking his black and tan miniature pinscher and drinking coffee around the shops then go introduce yourself.

Simple performance, yet much nobility and elegance in it.
(In the centuries past, my paternal ancestors were into olive cultivation big time in Greece).
