Default Strad o Lin on NY CL $165

If its in decent shape it could be a bargain. It does mention a hole in the top but I could not make it out from the pics.

From the 1st photo it looks some holes drilled above the bass side f-hole.

Clone of mine. Holes may indicate some sort of former pickup attachment (?)

If no other damage, bargain price.

Holes may indicate a left handed player who had moved a pick guard to the other side at one time. I agree... This looks like a good price for an instrument in fine shape. Likely spent most or of its life inside the case. Somebody is going to be happy.

Glad someone on this site got it.... I think you did well. Normally if up for auction one in that condition would go quite a bit higher, especially with functional case.

The owner was a pleasure to deal with as well....once he got over the idea that he wasn't dealing with someone locally, and that I wasn't trying to scam him.

It arrived yesterday. Tuners stiff and need both cleaning and lubrication. I threw some strings on it to check action....moderately high...adjustable bridge is at lowest point...looks like some work needs to be done. Potential for great sound...instrument is clean and in good shape aside from three small screw holes in top that were visible in the CL photos there are two machine screws set into top near edge that weren't visible in photos. Have to find a way to determine if they are doing duty or are just hanging round from whatever led to the other three holes.

    Photos will come along tonight.

I almost bought it. Had the guy skyping with it and everything. Was a little nervous about all the holes, afraid braces were hit..Really just wanted the tailpiece!!

The screws (and holes) were artifacts of something that did miss all the braces. Has ended up nicely playable with a sweet voice.
